In 2011 I was working on a project composing music for improvisors. I called it Johan Arnold Arrias Solo [J.A.A.S] with the ambition of writing a solo piece alongside writing compositions for ensembles of varying size and instrumentation. The quintet Jaas "that comprises some of the best of the Swedish scene of improvisers" (T.Mukarji) was in 2012 gathered to perform the ensemble pieces of this project and thereby the group was formed. And the name stuck (and has got nothing to do with Swedish military air crafts). The quintet soon got a life of its own, also improvising totally free, and has since 2012 toured Sweden. And now, finally, recordings made in 2012 are released! Slowly rocking consists of four pieces. Two of them are semi-composed and two are freely improvised.
